The way I felt when I woke up this morning is how everyone should feel the morning after prom. Last night, Worn Fashion Journal hosted “Secondhand Prom” at the Church of the Holy Trinity, and essentially it was the BEST PROM EVER. Or at the very least, I had a much better time than I did at my actual prom. Also, they had one of the most delicious/outrageously beautiful cakes I have ever consumed/laid eyes on. Moreover, I consumed it while dancing/singing along to No Doubt’s “Just a Girl.” Perfect.

Overall, I am currently filled with a substantial amount of Worn-love.

The prom was held in celebration of the launch of Issue 16 of Worn, and independent fashion magazine coming out of Toronto. It also so happens to be the issue that I’ve helped design for the past six months alongside an amazing team. The issue in its entirety is fantastic — filled with both beautiful images and ideas. I am very proud to say it was something I played a part in creating.

What is Worn? For anyone who doesn’t know, it is a one-of-a-kind publication. It is a smart fashion magazine. Worn looks at fashion from a more intelligent context than most magazines, delving into the history and meaning behind what one wears. One of the best parts about the magazine is that no one gets paid for what they do. That sounds crazy, I know. But, it feels amazing to work towards something when you know that everyone involved is there solely because it’s something they love and believe in.
