The way I felt when I woke up this morning is how everyone should feel the morning after prom. Last night, Worn Fashion Journal hosted “Secondhand Prom” at the Church of the Holy Trinity, and essentially it was the BEST PROM EVER. Or at the very least, I had a much better time than I did at my actual prom. Also, they had one of the most delicious/outrageously beautiful cakes I have ever consumed/laid eyes on. Moreover, I consumed it while dancing/singing along to No Doubt’s “Just a Girl.” Perfect. Overall, I am currently filled with a substantial amount of Worn-love. The prom was held in celebration of the launch [...]

BFF: Rachel Antonoff x Lena Dunham
Instead of participating in any fashion weeks this season, Rachel Anotonoff chose to present her Fall 2013 Ready-to-wear collection in the form of a short fashion film entitled “BFF“. Of course, she chose to collaborate with her friend Lena Dunham, thereby leading to this very moment of my gushing over the endeavor. Dunham (who I’ve mentioned is dating Jack Antonoff, Rachel’s brother) directed the short film which exhibits behaviour of best friends in their natural habitat, National Geographic style. Not only does the film star Dunham’s sister Grace (who is recognizable from her role in Dunham’s SXSW-winning film Tiny Furniture), but the voiceover is done by Adam Driver of Girls, [...]

POLYVORE//HONOR FALL’11//UNKNOWN//AUTUMN DE WILDE FOR RODARTE//UO ’10//THE ROW ’07 My first Polyvore collage ever, accompanied by images of more pretty things, and the video from The Row that I’m still in love with six years later. Remember when Urban Outfitters did really beautiful catalogues? It’s like my style is perpetually at least two years behind.
Genetic Lottery
This TED talk by Cameron Russell is something I found last week and have already shared via both Twitter and Facebook. I watched it again today and re-realized just how important it is, and how prevalent Russell’s message is. I am incredibly taken by how frank and honest she is about society’s attitude towards physical appearance and its associated privilege. She was also interviewed on CNN, and she was pretty great there too.
Clueless = Best Ever.
By Internet standards, I’m totally late on seeing this. Early this month, Wildfox released a lookbook inspired by Clueless, one of the best things ever. Wildfox isn’t really my style clothing wise, but generally they do pretty awesome lookbooks. I mean, Charlotte Free. The brand’s Clueless lookbook essentially re-invents the movie’s key scenes in a really fun, accurate way. It’s campy, nostalgic, and definitely zeroes in on the idea that the 90′s are back. Just a couple days ago, my sister and I were watching an early episode of FRIENDS and commenting on/mostly joking about how hip Monica Geller‘s (and sometimes Rachel‘s) wardrobe would be today. But anyway. Although I [...]
